At the upcoming 40th AAIFF, held from July 26th to August 5th, AABANY is cosponsoring two films. Come see Defender, the intense and personal story of San Francisco Public Defender Jeff Adachi, who strives to combat racism, police brutality, and injustice against minorities while showing the critical role of the public defender in the justice system, and Save My Seoul, which follows two Korean-American brothers while they unravel the dark complexity of the sex trade in Seoul, and the broken culture that causes it.

NAPABA Connects
IHC Application Deadline | Wednesday, July 26
The deadline for in-house counsel to submit an application for NAPABA Connects is less than two weeks away!
NAPABA Connects, formerly known as the Pitch Sessions, provides a unique opportunity for attorneys and in-house counsel (IHC) to foster relationships between law firm lawyers and IHC through various touchpoints throughout the NAPABA Convention.
NAPABA is offering complimentary registrations to IHC who participate in two pitch sessions, as well as other incentives:
IHC will be entered into a raffle at every touchpoint they attend (except for individual pitch sessions) to win prizes.
Each company whose IHC participates in the pitch sessions and meets with at least two law firms for 30-minute sessions will receive one complimentary registration for the 2017 NAPABA Convention.

Prospective Partners Program
Now Accepting Applications!
The NAPABA Prospective Partners Program (PPP) aims to increase the number of Asian Pacific American partners at major law firms through introduction, mentorship, and relationship building. Between 2010 and 2017, 78 percent of PPP participants have been promoted to partner or moved to senior in-house positions—82 percent of them within two years of participation!

In anticipation of the program’s eighth year, the PPP is inviting candidate applications and nominations for participation in the PPP sessions taking place at the 2017 NAPABA Convention. The application will close on Aug. 15, 2017.
