AABANY and NYIPLA Young Lawyers Committee Host December Board Games Night

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, AABANY’s IP Committee teamed up with the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (NYIPLA) Young Lawyers Committee for a fun and festive Board Games Night.  The event brought together attorneys, law students, and friends for an evening of networking, laughter, and friendly competition over classic and modern board games.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of games, including Flip 7, Taboo, and Hues and Cues, which sparked plenty of creativity, quick thinking, and colorful conversations. Whether strategizing to win or just playing for fun, participants had a great time connecting in a relaxed, social setting over dinner and drinks.

Additionally, attendees celebrated the birthday of AABANY member (and past Litigation Committee Co-Chair) Aakruti Vakharia. The cake shared by all who was there was a special treat for the fun night.

AABANY Intellectual Property Committee Co-Hosts Board Games Night

On April 9th, AABANY’s IP Committee, in collaboration with the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (NYIPLA), hosted an exciting and lively Board Games Night at Fish & Richardson. Everyone from IP lawyers and beyond was invited to unwind and connect for a night of friendly competition.


Around 30 players of all skill levels were able to engage in a variety of games that were offered, from familiar games, such as Monopoly, Codenames, and Anomia, as well as new ones like Herd Mentality. Participants enjoyed the lighthearted, relaxed, and enjoyable atmosphere of each game, regardless of skill level, making for a laughter-filled night of fun.

The attendees enjoyed a variety of delicious food and drinks, including dumplings and noodles.

Intellectual Property Committee Unwinds with Board Game Night

On March 7, the IP Committee of AABANY hosted a fun and relaxing Board Game Night, inviting members and friends from a variety of backgrounds to unwind, connect, and engage in some friendly competition.

Whether you were a seasoned board game enthusiast or a casual player, there was something for everyone. The night featured a variety of games, including classics such as Taboo and Monopoly, as well as some fresh games that were new to attendees.  The casual, fun atmosphere made it easy for everyone to jump right in, regardless of their level of experience with board games.  Attendees also enjoyed a spread of dumplings, noodles, and other food and drinks. 

A big thank you to everyone who attended for some good fun and conversation, and for making this event such a success!

Smashing Good Time: AABANY’s Ping Pong Social at PingPod, presented by Solo and Small Firm Practice, Young Lawyers, and Immigration Law Committees

When it comes to bringing people together for a weekend afternoon of fun, networking, and friendly competition, the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY) knows how to serve up an ace. On Saturday, October 7, AABANY’s Solo and Small Firm Practice, Young Lawyers, and Immigration Law Committees organized an exciting Ping Pong social event at PingPod on the Lower East Side, and it was an afternoon filled with excitement, camaraderie, and impressive rallies.

Ping Pong enthusiasts from various legal backgrounds gathered at PingPod, each armed with a paddle and ready to showcase their skills. From beginners to seasoned pros, the event welcomed players of all levels. It was a fantastic opportunity for lawyers from both private and public sectors and recent law school graduates to let off some steam and engage in some friendly competition.

Participants also found themselves forging new connections, discussing legal topics, and even making potential career moves between rallies. Ping Pong truly served as the icebreaker, and the event demonstrated how professional connections can be made in the most unexpected settings.

Thank you to everyone for spending their Saturday afternoon with AABANY. Here’s to more exciting events and unforgettable moments brought by AABANY!
