Yes, there is an AABANY Running Club. It’s part of the Young Lawyers Committee.
Their next run is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31 at 7PM.
They will meet at:

New York, NY 10038
You can leave your bags at 121 Fulton St with Liz Mo, co-chair of the Young Lawyers Committee, while the group goes on a 3-mile run, at a comfortable pace around 10:00minutes/mile.
They will either run over the Brooklyn Bridge and back or along West Side Highway.
If you can’t join them for the run, join them for post-run drinks + food at 121 Fulton Street, New York, NY.

On Friday, May 31, AABANY’s Membership Committee presented the second of its Get to Know AABANY Happy Hours, this time featuring the Corporate Law, Young Lawyers and Student Outreach Committees. More than 70 attendees gathered at K2 Lounge in the Rubin Museum of Art. Apart from mixing, mingling and networking with fellow AABANY members and friends, guests got to enjoy the Himalayan and Buddhist art collection at the museum, music provided by a live DJ, delicious finger foods and 2-for-1 drink specials. It was a great way to wrap up APA Heritage Month and a wonderful wind-down to a busy week. All who attended seemed to enjoy the space, the surroundings and the good company. On Saturday, July 28, 2012, over 60 attorneys, law students, family and friends joined AABANY for its 5th Annual Picnic in Central Park. This year, the picnic was held at the Great Hill, one of the highest points in the Central Park, located near 105th Street and Central Park West. The Great Hill was a wonderful location for the picnic as AABANY members, family and friends were able to mingle and comfortably enjoy delicious sandwiches, snacks and drinks in a peaceful setting.
AABANY’s Annual Picnic has become a fan-favorite event and provides an opportunity for members to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Experienced attorneys could be heard trading recent “war stories” while law student graduates were heard sharing their post-bar exam stories following this past week’s exams. As expected, rain cut the picnic short but AABANY quickly moved its event indoors to the nearby Village Pourhouse. Thanks to AABANY’s social media presence on Facebook and Twitter, many attendees immediately learned that AABANY was moving to its alternative location. At the Village Pourhouse, members enjoyed hot appetizers and cold drinks in a private section of the bar and continued socializing until the early evening.
Some recognizable AABANY members who attended the picnic and happy hour were former Presidents Andy Hahn and Linda Lin, current President Jean Lee, Executive Director Yang Chen as well as several AABANY directors and committee chairs. The annual picnic was co-sponsored by the Litigation, Student Outreach, and Young Lawyers Committees, and the committee co-chairs would like to thank the members of their planning committee (Thomas Hou, Amy Luo, Amy Ngai, Anthony Nguyen, Jennifer Nguyen, and Rebecca Ulich) for their help in organizing a wonderful summer event.

Don Liu Joins NY City Bar Task Force on Young Lawyers
The New York City Bar’s 44th Street Blog reported on July 16 that it has formed a new Task Force on New Lawyers in a Changing Profession to address what City Bar president Carey Dunn has described as “the plight of young lawyers." Created in response to recent ABA statistics showing that only 55% of recent law grads found full-time legal employment, the task force has convened leaders from across the legal spectrum, from academia to private practice, as well as the corporate, government and public interest sectors.
Among the Chief In-House Counsel tapped to participate in this important task force is Don Liu, General Counsel of Xerox. Don was recently recognized as one of the New York City Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Champions for 2012. He is also an active and valued member of AABANY and its Advisory Committee.
