On November 14th, at Lee Anav Chung White Kim Ruger & Richter LLP, AABANY’s Women’s Committee hosted “Women Rainmakers: Creating and Cultivating (Potential) Successful Client Relationships” to discuss strategies for building a client base. The three panelists who offered their own strategies were Megan Rha, Founding Partner at Rha & Kim, LLP, Judy Estes, Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, Mastercard, and Tsui Yee, Principal at the Law Offices of Tsui H. Yee, P.C. Jane Chuang, Partner at Lee Anav Chung White Kim Ruger & Richter LLP, moderated the panel.

This program continued the lessons imparted at the Fall Conference panel on Rainmaking for Women Attorneys – How to Get Business and Take Charge of Your Destiny. That program provided an overview of the business development process, broken down into several steps.  One key step is forming and nurturing relationships.  Based on feedback from the Fall Conference participants, the Women’s Committee sought to address this step in more detail by asking the panelists to talk about their experience and tips for relationship building.

The panelists shared personal anecdotes about building a network, emphasized the value of an organic connection, and offered strategies to combat the issues women may face when building client relationships. Shortly after the panel, attendees sat down for a more candid conversation with everyone in the room to share personal, actionable goals and takeaways for developing their network.

Thank you to our Women’s Committee Co-Chairs, Karen Shen and Yan Sin, for organizing this great evening, to Jane Chuang and Ligee Gu for helping facilitate the event, and to Lee Anav Chung White Kim Ruger & Richter LLP for hosting an impactful panel on business development for women attorneys.
