Knowledge is power. August 23, 2017, marked the return of AABANY’s Government Service and Public Interest Committee’s Know-Your-Rights (“KYR”) presentations at the Visiting Nurse Services of New York. Over fifty community members listened to Pauline Yeung-Ha (Partner at Grimaldi & Yeung), an expert in the areas of Trusts, Wills and Estates and Elder Law. The presentation, which was given in Cantonese, covered topics such as Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxy, Living Wills and issues involving Medicaid. Armed with new legal information, community members will be able to make informed decisions that may impact their daily lives.
The GSPI Committee will be having more KYR trainings in the upcoming year. If you are interested in either presenting at a future KYR event or would like to suggest an area of law to be covered , please contact GSPI co-chair, Jonathan Hernandez ([email protected]).
