KALAGNY will be hosting the 2014 International Association of Korean Lawyers’ Conference at Fordham University Law School from Oct 2-5, 2014.  In order to prepare for the 2014 conference, IAKL and KALAGNY have set up a Conference Host Committee that will focus on the logistics, planning and hosting of this conference.  If you are interested in joining the IAKL/KALAGNY Host committee, then you are cordially invited to the next Host Committee meeting which will be held at the office of DeVore & DeMarco on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. at the following location:

KALAGNY is going biking in New York City’s Central Park on Saturday, November 2, 2013 starting at10 a.m. Come out and bike with us, then join us for lunch. Every participant must provide their own bicycle. Helmets will be required for participants who are 14 and under but everyone is strongly encouraged to wear one. KALAGNY Announces $1000 Law Student Scholarship

KALAGNY is currently seeking submission of applications from its law student members for the third annual KALAGNY Law Student Scholarship Award in the amount of $1000 which will be presented to the winning law student member at KALAGNY’s upcoming 27th Anniversary Gala on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Harvard Club in New York City. The scholarship will be given to the law student member who has demonstrated the most outstanding commitment to and support for the Korean American community in Greater New York and who exhibits dedication to use his/her legal knowledge and skills to continue this commitment and support. The scholarship will be awarded based on merit. Applications are due Wednesday, May 15, 2013.   Click here for details and eligibility requirements.

Korean Community Services (“KCS”) has been coordinating with the New York Food Stamp Employment and Training (“FSET”) program, a state funded job training program. To increase connections with local employers (and ultimately for FSET participants), KCS and partner organizations, CMP (Chinatown Manpower Project) and Chhaya CDC, are holding a job fair on February 28, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at United Health in Flushing.
