The National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (NAPALSA) is currently seeking interested speakers for panels to be presented during the 2017 NAPALSA Conference taking place during the 2017 NAPABA Convention in Washington, D.C., from Nov. 2-5. Lend your expertise to a panel and provide real world knowledge and guidance to current law students!
Since 2002, the NAPALSA Conference has taken place in conjunction with the NAPABA Convention. Law students have the opportunity to organize their own panels catered to law students as well as participate in the general NAPABA programming. This partnership provides law students the chance to further hone their skills and learn and network with current attorneys from diverse sectors.

Advancing Justice | AAJC 2016 Youth Leadership Summit, Sept. 22-24
Advancing Justice | AAJC’s Youth Leadership Summit is a three-day leadership development program for high-achieving college students. The 2016 summit, which will be held on Sept. 22–24, will bring 25 student leaders to Washington, D.C., for three days of advocacy training and leadership development workshops focused on civic engagement. The Youth Summit provides a unique opportunity for young advocates from across the country to both interact with their peers as well as learn from and network with national leaders.

PALS Mentoring Reception: Building Effective Mentoring Relationships

This networking reception will provide students and lawyers, presently participating in the PALS Mentoring Program, an opportunity to meet.
We also encourage all New York City area law students of color and attorneys interested in future participation to come and learn about PALS and our Mentoring Program.
A New Open Enrollment Period Will Commence
on Friday, February 5th!
Mentoring relationships are rewarding to both parties and are essential in the professional world. We encourage all attorneys to share their own experiences on the giving and receiving end of mentoring relationships.
Please spread the word about this reception to attorneys who may be interested in volunteering as a mentor to a law student of color. We continue to have a tremendous demand from students interested in obtaining a mentor.

New York State Bar Association Networking Opportunity for Future Elder Law and Special Needs Attorneys

The Elder Law and Special Needs Section’s Diversity Committee of New York State Bar Association is seeking law students with an interest in elder law to apply for free registration and attendance at the Section’s Annual Meeting held in January 2016 in New York City. We will provide a limited number of paid registrations to attend the Diversity Reception on January 25th, our meeting on January 26th and a reception afterwards.
We are looking for students from ethnically diverse backgrounds who are considering a practice in the dynamic and growing fields of Elder Law and Special Needs. The deadline for a response is January 12, 2016. Assistance with arranging for travel and lodging may be available.
All selections will be made at the discretion of the Committee.
