New York City Bar 2017 Diversity and Inclusion Champion Awards

The New York City Bar Office for Diversity and Inclusion is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Diversity and Inclusion Champion Awards, which
will be presented at the Diversity and Inclusion Celebration Dinner on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

The award recognizes the critical role individual attorneys have
played in initiating and sustaining change within their organizations
and the overall New York legal community. The award recipients embody
the New York City Bar’s Statement of Diversity
Principles, which defines diversity as an inclusive concept,
encompassing race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender
identity and expression, religion, nationality, age, disability and
marital and parental status.

The 2017 Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award recipients are:

NYC Bar 2015 Diversity Benchmarking Report

The New York City Bar Office for Diversity and Inclusion is pleased to release the 2015 Diversity Benchmarking Report. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the successes and challenges of the law firms that have signed onto the City Bar’s Statement of Diversity Principles face in their respective diversity and inclusion efforts, as well as recommendations for enhancing the career opportunities of women and minority attorneys.

The results of this survey are an integral part of how the City Bar establishes goals and priorities to best support our signatory firms through our Office and our diversity committees, and we are grateful to the firms that participate in the survey each year and help us to provide this resource.

5 Receive City Bar Legal Service Awards

Congratulations to Donna Chiu, AABANY Member and attorney at Asian Americans for Equality, on her recent honor from the New York City Bar Association. One of five recipients, Donna was honored at the City Bar’s 27th Annual Legal Services Awards recognizing those who provide full-time outstanding civil legal assistance to New York’s poor.
