On Friday, May 1, 2015, AABANY came out to join the Community Law Day in the park outside of the Civil Court building at 111 Centre Street among other wonderful organizations, including Sanctuary for Families to our left and the Legal Aid Society to our right. Our table was manned and visited that afternoon by President Will Wang, Pro Bono & Community Service Co-Chairs Sam Lui and June Lee, Labor & Employment Law Committee Co-Chair Chris Kwok, Government Service & Public Interest Committee Co-Chair Anita Wu, Cynthia Weaver, and Simone Nguyen.

We were fortunate enough to distribute information to those in need of legal assistance and connect with many members of the Chinatown and downtown community. PBCS Co-Chair June Lee, Queens Legal Services, remarked that it was great to go out and see the people who needed help face-to-face as opposed to picking up a phone call and not necessarily being able to read their emotional cues. We hope that those who approached us found the information that they were looking for and left our table feeling a bit less lost. The Hello Panda candies were also a big hit with the kids!

Special thanks to organizers of the event, fellow organizations, AABANY members who staffed our table, and all that came out to keep us company on that lovely day!

More photos to come!
