On Tuesday, Dec. 12, AABANY was privileged to be invited to the induction of Judge Phillip Hom as a Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York. The ceremony took place at Civil Court Queens County. Former New York City Council Member and Comptroller John C. Liu presided over the proceedings as Master of Ceremonies. Presiding Justice Randall T. Eng swore in Judge Hom, after which AABANY, represented by Judiciary Committee Co-Chair Linda Lin, Judiciary Committee Vice Chair Tristan Loanzon, President Dwight Yoo and Executive Director Yang Chen, performed the honor of robing Judge Hom.

AABANY issued a press release on December 15 to congratulate Judge Hom:

“AABANY is proud to recognize Judge Hom as a longstanding advocate for the Asian Pacific American community,” states AABANY President Dwight Yoo. “We were delighted to take part in his induction ceremony and to have the honor of robing him after he was sworn in by Presiding Justice Randall T. Eng. We commend Judge Hom for serving the public interest and the community and wish him continued success in making a positive impact as a judge in the Civil Court in Queens County.”
