On Wednesday, April 11, AABANY organized a visit by a delegation of judges from China hosted by Internews, “an international non-profit organization whose mission is to empower local media worldwide to give people the news and information they need, the ability to connect and the means to make their voices heard."  The meeting took place in a courtroom at the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.  Hon. Denny Chin gave a presentation about his experience handling high profile cases.  Also on hand to greet the Chinese judges were Hon. Kiyo Matsumoto and the Hon. Marilyn Go from the Eastern District of New York.  The Chinese judges were also interested to hear about how courts handled cyber-bullying cases.  Joanne Li and Jim Lin (Co-Chair, Prosecutors Committee) from the New York County District Attorneys’ office were on hand to give that presentation.  Joanne works in the DANY’s Cyber-Crime and Identity Theft Unit. Jane Chuang, AABANY Recording Secretary and Co-Chair of the IP Committee, coordinated the meeting.
