On Sept. 20, AABANY played host to a delegation from China representing the People’s Procuratorate of Hainan Province. The group wanted to hear from AABANY about pro bono and public interest law in the United States. Pauline Yeung-Ha, co-chair of the Pro Bono Committee, spoke about AABANY’s monthly pro bono clinic. Song Kim, co-chair of the Issues Committee, spoke about public interest law generally and specifically about her work as Staff Attorney at AALDEF and the work that it does. The meeting was hosted by AABANY sponsor Seyfarth Shaw at their offices in the New York Times Building. Past AABANY VP of Programs and Operations James Yu and Seyfarth’s Pro Bono Coordinator Robert Whitman greeted the delegation and spoke about the firm’s pro bono work on behalf of non-profit organizations.
Thanks to Seyfarth Shaw for hosting the delegation. Thanks also to Pauline and Song for meeting with our visitors from Hainan Province. Thanks to Triway International Group for organizing the visit.
