On Thursday, March 8th, the AABANY Student Outreach Committee held a Resume Review Workshop at Fordham Law School. AABANY attorney members volunteered to spend one-on-one time with law students to go over resumes in preparation for applying to jobs in the legal profession, and law students were able to network and mingle over a selection of snacks and soft drinks while waiting.
In his introduction, incoming President-Elect Brian Song emphasized the importance of student outreach in AABANY and how students can get the most out of AABANY. In addition to events like the resume review workshop, he pointed out how AABANY gives law students early opportunities to start networking, which allow students to cultivate relationships that they will encounter over and over again in practice. He also encouraged students to get involved with AABANY committees, and how they could play an important role in ensuring that the committees run smoothly. Overall, the workshop itself and Brian’s introduction were a testament to the importance of students in AABANY.
Thank you to all our volunteers and thanks to the Student Outreach Committee for organizing this event!
