New York City Bar Association Announces 2018 Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award Winners
AABANY congratulates past president Susan L. Shin on being named one of the 2018 New York City Bar Association Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award recipients. As stated in the NYCBA press release:
The award recognizes the critical role individual attorneys have played in initiating and sustaining change within their organizations and the overall New York legal community. The award recipients embody the New York City Bar’s Statement of Diversity Principles, which defines diversity as an inclusive concept, encompassing race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, nationality, age, disability and marital and parental status. The City Bar has recognized diversity and inclusion champions since the award was created in 2006.

Legislature Releases List of Candidates for Attorney General
On May 12, the New York State Legislature released the list of candidates who have applied to fill the vacancy for New York State Attorney General. Among the applicants is our own Hon. Doris Ling-Cohan.
As stated in the news release from the New York State Legislature:
Interviews will be held by a bi-partisan, bicameral committee of the Legislature on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 16, 2018, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Hamilton Hearing Room B, Legislative Office Building in Albany. These interviews will be open to the public and will be available for live viewing on the New York State Assembly website:http://nyassembly.gov/av/.
