NAPABA In-House Counsel Mentoring Program – Why Join?

Applications Due October 17, 2023

The NAPABA In-House Counsel Mentoring Program has operated for nearly two decades and is responsible for hundreds of professional relationships that have resulted in the development of in-house counsel leaders who have shined in their career.

This program provides mentee attorneys the opportunity to expand their professional network and find meaningful support and connection with other diverse attorneys who understand the challenges of the practice and can foster new ideas that inspires career growth. Mentors will harness their leadership skills and expertise to pass along perspective, wisdom, and practical skills gained throughout their career.

2.   Utilize Email Subject: “PALS 2013 Mentor”

3.   PALS will respond to your email within 7 business days, indicating a completed mentor profile status.

4.   Please log-in Here to update your profile today!  

Attorneys who have NOT Created an Attorney Profile on the PALS Website:

1.   Visit www.palsprogram.org/mentor and fill in all requested information on the online form.

2.   PALS will respond to your email within 7 business days, indicating a completed mentor profile status.

Current Mentors:

We thank you for your willingness to volunteer as a mentor in the past.  If you would like an additional PALS Mentee, or if you have lost touch with your PALS Mentee and are interested in being assigned a new PALS Mentee, please update your profile and let us know via email at [email protected] .  

Attorneys matched through the program will be required to review the

PALS Mentoring Manual and sign a Participation Agreement with their mentor.

On Tuesday night, May 2, AABANY held a Mentor-Mentee Happy Hour at Pranna Lounge.  Many current and prospective mentors and mentees met, mingled and caught up over food and drink.  We counted many interesting people in the room, including Roslyn Tom, a partner at Baker & McKenzie who was once the first woman at a Japanese securities firm, Don Liu, General Counsel at Xerox who was an avid disco dancer in his high school days, and Margaret Ling, in-house counsel at First American Title and Chair of AABANY’s Real Estate Committee, who swore in Mick Jagger when she clerked for Hon. Constance Baker Motley.  We were hoping to announce the launch of the 2012 Mentorship program and talk about the current Mentorship program, but the din of the bar made it impossible.  If you would like to learn more about AABANY’s Mentorship Program, contact our Coordinator, Julie Kwon at [email protected].

Get Connected @ AABANY with a Mentor: Aug. 15 Deadline

Last month we announced the launch of the AABANY Mentorship Program.  We have had a strong response from mentees and we need more mentors to sign up, particularly in the following areas: Bankruptcy, Corporate, Commercial Litigation, International, Immigration, Intellectual Property and Real Estate. If you have not signed up yet, please do so today.  Deadline is August 15.  We hope you will take part in this important new initiative from AABANY.  Thanks very much to those who have already signed up.  We plan to introduce the mentors and mentees in person during the cocktail reception at the Fall Conference on September 17.  If you have any questions, contact the Mentorship Program Coordinator, Julie Kwon at [email protected].
