NAPABA’s Eastern Super Regional Conference took place last week from May 31 through June 2 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, organized and hosted by APALA-NJ. AABANY made a strong showing, both in attendance and as speakers or moderators on several panels, including Ben Hsing, Michael Yim, Don Liu, Michael Yap, Lynnette Sarno, Parkin Lee, Sapna Palla, Judy Kim, Theo Cheng and Tsui Yee. The AABANY Trial Re-enactment Team, led by the Hon. Denny Chin and Kathy Hirata Chin (photo above by Francis Chin), presented “Building Our Legacy: The Murder of Vincent Chin,” to mark the 30th anniversary of his death.
Besides the wealth of excellent CLE programs, the conference presented numerous opportunities for attendees to catch up, mix and mingle with each other, as NAPABA members and leaders from up and down the eastern seaboard took part in the activities and proceedings.
The event concluded on Saturday evening with the 15th annual gala dinner and installation of officers for APALA-NJ. Congratulations to all the honorees, in particular our good friend Susan Moon, who received the Corporate Leadership Award. Congratulations also to the scholarship recipients, including law student member Eric Ng, Rutgers Law School-Newark, Class of 2013.
AABANY congratulates all the officers and directors, both incoming and outgoing, of APALA-NJ for their great leadership and organizational skills in planning and executing this Super Regional Conference. We look forward to future events and collaborations with our sister affiliate across the Hudson.
