First Asian-American Judge Sworn in to D.C. Federal District Court

Congratulations Judge Mehta!

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, who was born in India and arrived in the United States as a young child, was formally sworn in on Friday, June 19, 2015 as the first Asian Pacific American on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Judge Mehta was nominated by President Obama in July of 2014 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate by December of the same year.
