The Government Service and Public Interest (GSPI) Committee and the Pro Bono and Community Service Committee held a joint meeting on March 1. Many topics were discussed, including possible merger or restructuring of the two committees, recruiting government attorneys to join the GSPI Committee, free public interest career transition and career advice through Justice Labs, signing up for the opt-in GSPI Committee directory, call for co-chairs to lead the GSPI Committee in the new fiscal year, recruitment of volunteers for the Pro Bono Committee’s monthly legal clinic and ideas for programs and panels in the new year. Much robust discussion took place on all these subjects.
At the end of the meeting, a date was set for the next meeting: April 19 at 6:30 pm. If you are interested in learning more about either committee or both committees, contact Anita Wu ([email protected]) (GSPI Committee) or Sam Lui ([email protected]) or June Lee ([email protected]) (Pro Bono Committee).
Thanks to everyone who came out and took part in the meeting on March 1. We hope you will continue to remain active and engaged and encourage other government service, public interest and pro bono attorneys to join us for the April 19 meeting.
