On Thursday, July 13, the Government Service & Public Interest (GSPI), Bankruptcy, Labor & Employment Law and Young Lawyers Committees hosted AABANY’s first ever Karaoke Night!
Over 40 members and colleagues came out to Koreatown to network, see old friends and make new contacts at Karaoke City. The Honorable Doris Ling-Cohan was there to help kick-off the festivities by starting the song queue. Members and friends enjoyed drinks courtesy of Esquire Solutions and food and songs, courtesy of M&T Bank and AABANY.
The guests wowed everyone with their singing prowess. A great time was had by all. We hope to host another karaoke event again in the future!
In the upcoming months, GSPI will be having know-your-rights presentations for general community members to learn about different areas of law such as elder law (wills, advanced directives, etc.), employment law, and housing law (how to obtain repairs from your landlord).
If you’re an expert in these areas of law and are interested in presenting or if you don’t see your specialization and want to present on a different area of law then please contact Jonathan Hernandez, GSPI co-chair, at [email protected].
Thanks to everyone who came and thanks to our sponsors! We look forward to seeing you at a future event!
