On September 14, AABANY leaders attended a reception at the Nassau County Bar Association in Mineola, New York, to bring together various specialty and diverse bar associations for an evening of networking.
President Steve G. Leventhal welcomed all the attendees with brief remarks to extol the virtues of networking, collaboration and diversity in the profession. He then called up representatives from each of the bar associations in attendance to say a few words about their groups. President-Elect James Cho and Executive Director Yang Chen spoke for AABANY. EJ Thorsen, Executive Vice President of KALAGNY, spoke for KALAGNY as well as the various women’s bar associations that she has been active in. Anand Sinha, SABANY Treasurer, spoke for SABANY.
Also in attendance for AABANY were Will Ng, past VP of Finance and Development and currently co-chair of the Fall Conference Sponsorship Committee, and Margaret Ling, co-chair of the Asia Practice Committee and Real Estate Committee. AABANY member Patrick Yu, who chairs the Nassau County Bar Association’s Real Property Law Committee, was also present.
Many new connections were made during the course of the evening, and we look forward to future events and collaborations with the Nassau County Bar Association.
