On Dec. 12, AABANY’s Solo and Small Firm Practice Committee and Real Estate Committee together with the Alzheimer’s Association New York City Chapter co-sponsored a CLE on “Navigating the Affordable Care Act for Solo and Small Firm Attorneys and Small Businesses” at the Alzheimer Association New York City Chapter’s midtown Manhattan offices.
Audrey M. Diop, Director of Public Health Insurance Initiatives, NYC HRA’s Office of Citywide Health Insurance Access, informed the attendees about the requirements of the ACA and how solo and small firm attorneys and small businesses can comply.
Noilyn Abesamis-Mendoza, Health Policy Director, Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, and Steven De Castro, Executive Director, Kalusugan Coalition, spoke about the efforts to get coverage for the Asian American community under the ACA.
The program was highly informative and the audience gained much useful knowledge from the speakers. Thanks to Pauline Yeung-Ha and Wendy Yu, Solo and Small Firm Practice Committee Co-Chairs, for organizing the event.
