The NAPABA Board of Governors will appoint two At-Large Board Members to each serve a two-year term beginning with the 2016-17 bar year. The NAPABA Nominating and Elections Committee invites all members in good standing to apply to be At-Large Board Members by submitting a statement of interest and completing a short demographic survey before 8 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016.

NAPABA’s Nominating and Elections Committee (the “Committee”) is pleased to present for your consideration the following officer candidates for the 2016-17 bar year:

The Committee has approved candidates who not only have demonstrated leadership capabilities, but more importantly, have also seriously considered their goals for NAPABA, the challenges and opportunities they see facing NAPABA in the coming year, and how they envision moving NAPABA forward. Each candidate has set forth his/her vision for NAPABA in a personal statement.
Endorsements
NAPABA believes that the active participation of members, affiliates, and national associates is essential to a vibrant and progressive organization and encourages the engagement of its members in the nomination and election process. To facilitate the involvement of members and related entities, NAPABA provides an endorsement process by which members can inform one another about candidate qualifications and support candidates through endorsements, advertisements, articles, and other means. Any eligible individual, affiliate, national associate, or other entity (except for the current members of the Committee and NAPABA staff) may endorse any candidate. Further, although no individual member of the Committee shall officially endorse any candidate, the Committee member may provide information regarding any candidate. Candidate materials, including candidate statements, may contain a list of endorsements.

NAPABA At-Large Board Members Appointed
NAPABA congratulates two members appointed to serve as at-large board members of the NAPABA Board of Governors during the 2015-17 board years: Charles H. Jung, of Nassiri & Jung LLP, in San Francisco; and Joe Lee, of Microsoft, in Seattle.
Each year, two at-large members are selected to the Board of Governors in
recognition of the growth of Asian Pacific American attorneys in North
America and the desire to have diverse and inclusive representation on
the NAPABA Board of Governors.
Charles and Joe will be sworn into office at the 27th Anniversary Gala held on Nov. 7, 2015, during the 2015 NAPABA Convention in New Orleans.

NAPABA CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF LEADERSHIP IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION
WASHINGTON — Over 1,200 Asian Pacific American (APA) judges, attorneys, law professors, and law students attended the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) 25th Annual Convention in Kansas City, MO, from November 7-10, 2013. The Annual Convention’s MOmentum theme highlighted and celebrated the monumental achievements of APA attorneys over the past 25 years at the highest levels of the legal profession while also encouraging attendees to collaborate for future progress and successes.
The four-day convention included an annual International Law Symposium, Pro Bono & Public Interest Summit, and over 50 panels and plenaries with some of the brightest minds in the legal profession. Special events included a lunch plenary with special guests Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) and Representative Colleen Hanabusa (D-HI), who talked about their experiences as APA women in Congress. The Convention’s sold-out annual basketball tournament tested the talents of attorneys and law students against the Benchwarmers—an all-star line-up of APA judicial luminaries, including Judge Denny Chin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Justice Goodwin Liu of the California Supreme Court.
The Honorable Sri Srinivasan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit gave the keynote address during the 25th Anniversary Gala and Installation Dinner on Saturday, November 9, 2013. During the Gala, Judge Alok Ahuja of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District swore in the following members of the 2013-2014 NAPABA Board of Governors:
