AABANY Members and Friends Cheer on the Mets at Citi Field

On Friday, June 14, 2019, AABANY’s Membership and Bankruptcy Committees co-sponsored a Mets Game outing with members, friends, and family at Citi Field.

We took up two rows of seats in the upper decks, with an expansive view of the stadium from left field. It was a beautiful (but slightly chilly and windy) late spring night for a game. The Mets played the Cleveland Indians, and we all got free t-shirts, but no one was sure whose face was on it. Our crowd included both fans and non-fans, and some very young future fans.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the ball game. The Membership Committee has already lined up an outing at Yankee Stadium in August, and we hope to see you there. Stay tuned for details.

Elections are now underway for NAPABA 2014-15 Officers, and AABANY’s Board is pleased to announce that it endorses the following candidates in contested positions:

Voting Deadline: midnight PDT on Friday, September 12, 2014

All votes must be received before midnight PDT (i.e., by 11:59 pm PDT) on Friday, September 12, 2014. An electronic ballot will be sent to every member’s email address of record. The next edition of the NAPABA Lawyer Newsletter (also to be distributed later this month) will include a ballot for members who prefer to vote by paper ballot. Paper ballots representing an individual’s vote must show the name of the individual voting (either pre-printed, handwritten, or typed) and be postmarked or facsimile time-stamped no later than the deadline in order to be counted. 

Voter Eligibility

Only members in good standing as of August 1, 2014, are eligible to vote in NAPABA elections. Members must be admitted to the practice of law and (a) be in good standing with the bar of any state, territory, or province of the United States, the District of Columbia, or Canada, or (b) have heretofore met the requirements in category (a) and now be retired. Associate members – which includes law students, paralegals, and legal assistants – are not eligible to vote.

AABANY’s Upgraded Website

AABANY migrated its website to a new platform last week, on Dec. 2.

If you are an active member, you will need to reset your password upon first entrance into the upgraded website. You will immediately be taken to a “Manage Profile” page. Click on “Bio.” Your profile page will come up, where you can reset your password.

Active members will need to reset their password using the generic password given to members in our email blast of November 26. If you did not receive that email, contact [email protected] to receive instructions.  If you are renewing or joining AABANY for the first time, select “Join AABANY” in the top navigation menu to create a new profile and pay dues online.

NAPABA SEEKS AT-LARGE BOARD MEMBER CANDIDATES — DEADLINE AUGUST 30

This year, the NAPABA Board of Governors will appoint two At-Large Board Members to serve a two-year term that will begin in the 2013-2014 bar year.

The NAPABA Nominating and Elections Committee invites all members in good standing to submit their names and statements as candidates for At-Large Board Member to Pia Rivera at [email protected] on or before August 30, 2013.
