On Saturday, July 20th, five members of AABANY’s Young Lawyers Committee helped restore a series of Habitat for Humanity properties in Brooklyn, New York. Attorneys Adrien Lee and David Lo together with Asha George and Gloria Liu, both law students, and Jay Min, a recent law school graduate, worked in the grueling NYC summer heat wave to landscape a private community yard and remove damaged basement drywall. Working with circular saws, mason chisels, hammers and good old fashioned hand-labor made for a very memorable day but the most rewarding aspect of the day was certainly working side by side with the Habitat for Humanity team and Tracy – a future owner of one of the subsidized properties. Habitat for Humanity has many more ongoing projects in the works and can always use help. For more information or to sign up for a build (up to five people at a time), please visit http://habitatnyc.org/volunteer_signup.html for more information and to register. Thanks to Jay Min and Gabe Arce-Yee for coordinating AABANY’s involvement in this worthwhile project! (Photos above courtesy of Jay Min.)
