History was made on December 15, as the Hon. Judy Kim was officially inducted as the first Korean American elected to New York state court. In a packed court room at 111 Centre Street, family, friends and supporters of Judy Kim witnessed a warm, emotional and inspiring induction ceremony featuring speakers such as Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Assemblyman Ron Kim and Assemblyman Keith Wright, among many others.

Hon. Fern Fisher, Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for the New York City Courts, swore in Hon. Judy Kim, as Judge Kim’s colleagues from the New York State bench looked on with pride.

In her remarks, Judge Kim thanked her “village” from all walks of her professional and personal life that supported her in multi-faceted ways on her journey to the bench. AABANY is proud to be part of her “village” and congratulates Judge Kim on her achievement. We are privileged to have the opportunity to share in this history-making moment. We wish Judge Kim all the best as she embarks on her judicial career.
