On Saturday, March 30, AABANY joined MinKwon in offering a free legal clinic to assist members of the Asian American community with legal problems in various areas, including immigration, foreclosures and elder law. AABANY members Connie Kong and Stephen Jung were among the volunteers. AABANY Legal Intern Stephanie Yu, who is finishing up her final semester at Binghamton and plans to apply for law school, volunteered as a Cantonese translator.
This free legal clinic provided a wonderful opportunity to our members to give back to the community. Our next event is a Citizenship Day at which volunteers can help members of the Asian American community apply for citizenship. It will take place on April 20.
