On Monday, June 23, the New York Immigration Coalition celebrated their 10th Annual Builders of the New New York Awards Gala at Capitale. Parkin Lee, Chief Legal Officer of the Rockefeller Group and AABANY Advisory Committee member, was among the honorees.

In accepting his award, Parkin spoke eloquently and forcefully about the history of anti-Chinese and anti-Asian immigration legislation and of his own family’s experience as immigrants to this country. He praised the work of NYIC in fighting for more just and equitable immigration laws to protect the rights of all immigrants to this country.

Also honored was former Manhattan District Attorney the Hon. Robert M. Morgenthau, recognized by NYIC with a Special Lifetime Achievement Award for his nearly half century fight for immigrants’ rights.
